Air Duct Cleaning

Congratulations on deciding to have your air ducts cleaned. The process is fairly straightforward, especially with Austin Carpet Cleaning - air duct cleaning technicians on the job. Our air duct cleaning experts are meticulous about following NADCA (National Air Duct Cleaners Association) guidelines on every job, no matter how small or how large.

As you already know, air duct cleaning is a safe guard intended to improve both indoor air quality and the efficiency of your heating, ventilation and air conditioning system (HVAC). It entails cleaning all ducts, or passageways, that deliver air into your breathing space. It also includes the cleaning of coils and blowers, as well as removing dirt and dust from registers, vents and grilles. Our air duct cleaning technicians will also replace air filters, if required and agreed upon, and will be happy to discuss preventative treatments and measures.

Air Duct Cleaning - The Process

Austin Carpet Cleaning - air duct cleaning crew arrives at the premises with everything they need. The heavy duty machinery is mounted permanently on the trucks and vans, offering members of the crew freedom of movement throughout the process. However, before they begin to actually clean your ducts, they prepare the area. Since the equipment is parked outside, duct cleaning should not affect anything other than the ducts. Even so, we do not take chances with your interiors. The crew will place protective coverings on floors and furniture as required.

The first step in the cleaning process is to attach an eight-inch hose to a trunk line and create negative pressure inside the ductwork. Once suction has been established, dirt will not travel through the ductwork during the cleaning process. It should be noted that vents would also be removed for cleaning, to provide better access to the ducts.

Air compressors are then used to force dirt and debris off the walls, ceiling and floor of the ducts. To ensure that the compressors are able to reach far enough into the ducts, extendable compressor rods are used. Once released, the waste is sucked away through the previously installed vacuum hose. This process is repeated until nothing but air is being vacuumed away.

Once the ducts and returns have been cleaned, and all the dirt is captured in the trash receptacle on the truck or van, vents will be returned to their previous location and all the visible parts of your HVAC system will be cleaned. The return riser, blower motor and blower motor cage. If you have not already asked to have the air filters checked or changed, this is the right time to do so.
